Somber Figure - Oil Pastel

Born in Heredia Costa Rica in 1961, I studied Fine Arts at the Universidad Autonoma de Centroamerica. I have regularly participated in workshops exploring various mediums and techniques including painting, printmaking, watercolor, chalk pastels and sculpture. Since 1989 I have actively and often taken part in group and solo exhibitions. Some of these have been at the Universidad Autonoma de Centroamerica, the Wildlife Foundation of Costa Rica, Biennales del Café, Interamerican Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture of Costa Rica, numerous Arts Festivals, the Golden Hall of the Costa Rican Museum of Art, Hogar Siembra, the Costa Rican Country Club, the National Gallery at the Children's Museum and at the Juan Santamaria International Airport. Of course I also show in local galleries and I have even exhibited internationally in Mexico and with a solo exhibition in Lyon, France.

Throughout my life, I have been involved with art and design. I have studied their history and development. Other artists, both well known and little known, have inspired me to experiment, to be creative and to develop my own skills. I enjoy using many different techniques and create my work in a variety of mediums.
